Mary Morene Hession 1927 - 2003 Memorial services will be held for former Lone Pine resident Mary Morene Hession, 76, on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Mt. Whitney Baptist Church in Lone Pine at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Ben Sparks will officiate. Born in Klondike, Texas on March 8, 1927, Mrs. Hession died on July 19 in Rosamond. She lived in Hugo, Okla., until she moved to California, where she met and married Francis "Dope" Hession, who was born and raised in Lone Pine. She was a longtime resident of Lone Pine, working as a cook at Southern Inyo Hospital for 15 years and also at Lo-Inyo Elementary School. Two years ago, she moved with her daughter to Rosamond, where she died at her home, per her wishes. She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis. Mary is survived by daughter, Jean Braden of Rosamond; granddaughter, Aeraina Brownlee; great- grandchildren, Tiffany and Andrew of Lancaster; and sister, Juanita Puckett of Whittier.
