Myron R. (Mike) Smith

At his request, no services will be held for Myron R. (Mike) Smith, 81, a 27-year resident of Lone Pine.

Born Aug. 8, 1914 in Elkhart, Ind., Mr. Smith died Dec. 31 at Southern Inyo Hospital.

He was a staff sergeant in the U. S. Army during World War II, and was a welder at the China Lake Naval 
Weapons Center for 18 years.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia (Ollie) Smith of Lone Pine; daughter, Anita Duke of Lone Pine; sons, 
Richard Smith of Ridgecrest, and Allan Barid of Fortuna, Calif.; grandchildren, Joaquin Duke of Lone 
Pine, Sherri Barid of San Jose, Lydia Barid of San Bernardino, and Cory Barid of Scotia, Calif.; and two 
great grandchildren.

Donations may be sent to Southern Inyo Hospital, 501 E. Locust, Lone Pine 93545.

Private cremation has taken place with final burial at sea.
