Nancy Jean Haifley 1949 - 2003 Graveside funeral services for Nancy Jean Haifley, 53, will be held Friday, May 16, 10 a.m., at East Line Street Cemetery. Also, a memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 17, 10 a.m. at the Big Pine Community United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Karen Moore will officiate. The daughter of Homer D. Lewis Sr. and Betty L. Lewis, she was born Nancy Jean Lewis in Clarksburg, W.V., on Dec. 15, 1949. She died May 11, 2003 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. Mrs. Haifley moved with her family to Bishop in May of 195? And married her husband, Robert M. Haifley of Big Pine on June 22, 1968. Mrs. Haifley, a homemaker was a very loving wife, mother, sister, niece, aunt, grandmother and friend. She liked to dive around the valley and enjoyed looking at the scenery. She was a very giving person and at time cared about others more than herself. She loved being with her family most of all. She is survived by her husband, Robert Martin Haifley of Bishop; sons, Robert Haifley of Washington and Michael Haifley of Bishop; daughter, Penny S. Gonzalez of Bishop; brother Homer D. Lewis Jr. of Bishop; aunt, Kathryn Gillis; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by sister, Delura Casteneda.
