MRS. LEICESTER C. HALL Mrs. Nevada B. Hall, wife of Lieutenant Leicester C. Hall passed away early yesterday morning. She was a native of the State for which she was named, and about 31 years old. She was the second daughter of Mr. And Mrs. James Butler, discoverers of Tonopah. They, with Mrs. M. H. Whitaere, her sister, and Frank J. Butler, her brother, survive her. Our community has sustained grievous losses; there are voids in our friendships, affections and affairs that can never be filled. Few or none of the departed will be missed more than Mrs. Hall. In her were found not only every womanly excellence of character and attractive personality but also a mentality and high order of capability, developed and rounded out by education. She was not a seeker for prominence in affairs in which she enlisted, but was sought out for leadership because of her merits. She had served as the Inyo representative of the State Federation of Women’s Clubs. As chairman of the Inyo Republican Central Committee she was one of the first women in California to fill such a position. She was an officer of the Order of Eastern Star and valued and efficient in any position. Before her husband entered the national service she was his competent assistant in his professional work. More recently she had been assisting the Selective Board, in a clerical capacity. The Inyo Register Bishop, Inyo County, California Thursday, November 7, 1918 – Page Two Transcribed by Denise S. Flynn
