Peggy Eileen Craig 1949 - 2003 A memorial service will be held for former Bishop resident Peggy Eileen Craig, 54, on Saturday, May 31, at the Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston, Idaho, at 11 a.m. Additionally, family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Peggy's life at a potluck luncheon at 1024 Richardson Ave. in Lewiston. Born in Camp Campbell, Ky. On May 2, 1949, Peggy died on Friday, May 23, 2003, of a sudden heart attack. Living briefly back east before moving out west, Peggy grew up in California with sister Shirley and parents, Troy and Gloria Edmonds. They lived in several places in California, including Modesto, Panamint Valley, Lone Pine and finally Bishop. Peggy met future husband Jim while in her sophomore year of high school. She graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1966. She and Jim were married on Aug. 13, 1966 in Carson City, Nev. Having two wonderful daughters in Bishop, the family lived briefly in Bakersfield before moving to Carson City and eventually settling in Lewiston in 1979. They'd have celebrated 37 years of marriage this summer. Peggy was extremely talented in her employment outside the home. She had a gifted mind and wouldn't hesitate to help co-workers for growth and the benefit of all concerned. She cared deeply for the well-being of everyone who came into contact with her, and she received many plaques and awards for the work she provided. She was just finishing up the last few years of her work career which spanned more than 20 years at Lewis & Clark State College. She and husband Jim planned to retire within the next five years. Peggy and Jim planned to retire within the next five years. Peggy and Jim built their retirement dream home in Lenore in 2000, with the help of both daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. Peggy is survived by husband, Jim of Lenore; daughter, Jennifer Wilcoxon and husband Jim, and their children Brian, Troy, Michelle and Erica of Lewiston; daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Johnson and husband Tim and their children Craig and Emily of Hayden, Idaho; mother-in-law, Dorothy Craig of Lewiston; sister, Shirley McKellar of Reno, and her children, Troy Dews of Reno, and Shelly Kendall of Apple Valley, Calif.
