Richard Joseph
1919 - 2003

Funeral services for 48-year Lone Pine resident Richard Joseph, age 84, will be held at 11 a.m.  
Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Owens Valley Mortuary Chapel in Lone Pine.  A burial service will 
follow the funeral at Mt. Whitney Cemetery District.

Born in Baker, Nev. April 4, 1919, Mr. Joseph died Sept. 25,  2003 at his residence.

He was retired operating engineer in road construction, work out of Local 12, AFL-CIO.  Richard 
enjoyed hunting, fisher and playing Indian hand games.  He was a member of the Ely Shoshone 
Tribe of Nevada.  He was often seen at local sporting events - supporting the community's youth.

Richard is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Dorothy; daughter, Rachel of Lone Pine; son, 
Sanford of Lone Pine; grandchildren, Renee, Cheryl, Sanford, Travis, Wilford, Tiara and Jeremiah; 
10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy and Lillian of Nevada.
