Richard S. ‘Jack’ Jackson, Jr. 1921-2004 A memorial service was held on Monday, Nov. 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bend, Ore. for former Bishop resident Richard S. “Jack” Jackson, Jr. Born April 16, 1921 in Memphis, Tenn. To Richard and Eva (McConnell) Jackson, Jack died of lung cancer on Nov. 10, 2004 in Bend. He was 83. Jack served in the Navy during World War II. He married Irene Rankin on July 13, 1963 in Las Vegas. For many years, jack worked in the automobile industry as a service manager for Ford and Chrysler dealerships. He retired in 1990. Jack was affiliated with the First Presbyterian Church, the Lions Club, VFW, American Legion and the Elks. He enjoyed fishing, woodwork, and volunteer work. He was preceded in death by a sister. Jack is survived by his wife, Irene; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Patricia Jackson of Bishop and Jeff and Annmarie Bundy of Naperville, Ill; sister, Gloria Henderson of Texas; and his grandchildren, Vincent Brennan and Michelle Jackson of Bishop and Aaron and Gabe Bundy of Naperville. Memorial contributions in Jack’s name may be made to a Presbyterian church of one’s choosing or the Hospice of Bend—La Pine, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend, OR 97701.
