Rula Ann Hatch 1932-2003 Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at Brune and Buck Mortuary Chapel in Bishop for 24-year Big Pine resident Rula Ann Hatch. Interment will follow at the Woodman Cemetery in Big Pine. Born April 1, 1932, Salt Lake City, Utah, Rula Died Feb. 26, 2003, in Big Pine. Ruth married her husband of 53 years, Norman Hatch, in 1949. In 1978, Norm bought the Bishop Machine Shop and he and Rula relocated from the Santa Cruz area to Big Pine. She worked for the Indian Headstart Program as a cook and bus driver before joining the Inyo County Sheriff's Department in 1981 as Food Services Supervisor. She retired in 1991. Friends and family say Rula was a beautiful person to know and will be missed by all those that knew her. She was preceded in death by parents, Clara and Henry DeGooyer and a great-grandchild, Evan. Rula is survived by husband, Norman Hatch of Big Pine; daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Dennis Bacoch of Big Pine and Gale and Mark Green of Fresno; daughters, Charlene Hawley of Spokane, WA and Laura Hatch of Big Pine; sons, Norman Hatch and Dan Hatch of Ben Lomond; son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Helen Hunsaker of UT, Dan and Lynn DeGooyer of AZ, Lorrie and Lanette DeGooyer of UT, and Jack and Marylou DeGooyer of UT; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Ikeoa of UT; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
