Russell Shepherd
1923-2004

Everyone is invited to a celebration of life at Owens Valley Mortuary in Lone 
Pine on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. for lifelong Lone Pine resident Russell 
Shepherd.  Burial will be at the old Indian Cemetery.  Following the burial, a 
lunch will be served at the Lone Pine Paiute and Shoshone community building.

Russell was born on Sept. 8, 1923 in Lone Pine and died on Oct. 26, 2004 at 
Southern Inyo Hospital.

Among other occupations, Russell was primarily a ranch hand.  He spent a great 
amount of his time walking around Lone Pine and was known as the "Lone Pine 
greeter."

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny, and mother Cassie Shepherd; 
brothers, Grover, Albert and Henry, and his sister, Margart.

He is survived by an extended family and many friends.  He will be missed.
