In Memoriam. To the Officers and Members of Gen. John A. Logan Post, G.A.R., Department of California and Nevada. Comrades: - Your committee appointed to draft resolutions to the memory of our late comrade, S. A. Densmore, who died in Independence, Cal., August 31, 1901, respectfully submit the following: Whereas, in view of the loss this Post has sustained in its membership by the transfer of our late comrade, S. A. Densmore, from our ranks to the Department beyond the river of Death, and of the still greater loss sustained by those who were nearest and dearest to him, and of his attachment to the principles of the G. A. R., it is but just that a record of our appreciation of his merits should be made; therefore be it. Resolved by Gen. John A. Logan Post No. 180 G.A.R. of Bishop, Cal., that we bow with humble submission to the inevitable will, we do not the less mourn the loss of our late comrade, who was so suddenly stricken down while in vigorous health and manhood. Resolved, that we as a Post, and as individual members, do most sorely regret the circumstances that prevented our attendance and participation in the last sad rites paid to our late comrade. Resolved, That while no words from us can soothe their grief, we deeply and sincerely sympathize with the sorrowing family and relatives of the deceased in the sad affliction they are given to endure, and commend them to the Supreme Ruler of the Universe for comfort and consolation. Resolved, That our charter shall be draped in mourning for 30 days; that a copy of these resolution be presented to the family of our deceased comrade; that they be engrossed on a page in our record book, and a copy be sent to the Inyo county press, with a request of publication.
