Sherril Ann Evans 1946-2004 A rosary service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bishop at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 and a funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 for Sherril Ann Evans. Born April 23, 1946 in Los Angeles to Joseph and Albertien Thomas, Sherril died Monday, Dec. 20, 2004 in an American hospital in Paris, France after a long battle with cancer. Sherril was a 43-year resident of the Bishop area, where she raised four children and for 14 years worked at Pioneer Home Health Care. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church as was a volunteer counselor at We Care. Sherril was a passionate lover of horses, the outdoors and motorcycles. At Pioneer Home Health Care, Sherril was a social worker. Her compassionate caring touched the lives of more people than we will ever know. Sherril is survived by her husband, Virgil; four children, Jessica Evans of North Hollywood, Christopher Evans of Bishop, Rebecca Evans of Fresno and Elizabeth Evans of Fresno; brother and sister-in-law, Gregory and Roberta Thomas of Reno, Nev.,; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and John Barlow of Oxnard; brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Teresa Thomas of Bishop; and sister Susan Getty of Somis, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherril's memory may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bishop or to Pioneer Home Health Care, 162 E.
