Sophie Lillie, 91, Pioneer, Passes Monday, July 20

Sophie Schober Lillie, 91, of Bishop, passed away Monday, July 20, at Northern Inyo Hospital.

Mrs. Lillie was born Feb. 10, 1862, and came to Lone Pine in 1878.  From there she moved to Bishop Creek, 
where she attended Bishop Academy School.

She was married to Charles F. Lillie Jan. 2, 1881, at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Schober.  
She had three brothers, Rudolph, Edward, and Jacob Schober, all deceased.

Mrs. Lillie is survived by four children: Alice L. deReemer of Pacific Grove; John Lillie of Spokane, 
Wash.; Earl Lillie, Troy, Mont.; and Edythe Ly Vere of Alhambra.  She had five grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Blake Funeral chapel with the Rev. Laing Sibbet in 
charge.  Burial will be in the family plot in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
