Stanley E. Gunderson 1921 - 2003 Graveside services will be held for former 22-year Big Pine resident Stanley E. Gunderson, 82, on Monday, July 28, at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley at 10 a.m. Pastors Miriam and Myron Stump will officiate. Born Jan. 28, 1921 in Los Angeles, Mr. Gunderson died on July 14, 2003 at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital in Ridgecrest. A retired roofer with the Roofer's Union, Mr. Gunderson served in the Merchant Marines from 1941-45 and graduated from the United States Maritime Officer's School as an Ensign on Aug. 13, 1945. Stan was a member of the Bishop Country Club for 22 years. He lived in Big Pine for all of that time, before moving to Inyokern three years ago. He was loved and will be missed by all. Stan is survived by wife, Ginny Gunderson of Apple Valley; daughter, Sandy Campbell of Inyokern; brother, Rowland Gunderson and wife Kathryn of West Chester; stepdaughter, Debbie Scalise of Chandler, Ariz.; and stepson, Ron Soety of Girard, Penn. Interment will follow the services at the Memorial Park, which is at 2400 Waalew Rd. in Apple Valley.
