Graveside Rites Held For Stephen Jones, 15

Graveside funeral rites were held last Saturday afternoon at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, for Stephen 
Thomas Jones, 15, son of James M. Jones of Bishop.

Stephen, who attended Bishop elementary school in past years, had been attending junior high school in La 
Crescenta, where he lived with his sister, Mrs. James P. Kennedy.

He was playing basketball in gym class when he collapsed and was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital.  He
died en route to the hospital.  Death was attributed to a heart attack.  Stephen had a congenital heart 
condition, and was attending school at a lower elevation because of his heart condition.

He was born July 9, 1942, at Glendale.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Jones; his sister, Mrs. James P. Kennedy of La
Crescenta; and a brother and sister, Peter and Kathe, of Bishop.

The Jones family went south immediately last week following news of Stephen's death.
