Virginia M. Pomykata
1916 - 2003

A Rosary will be aid for Bishop resident Virginia M. Pomykata, 87, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Brune & Buck 
Mortuary Chapel at 7:30 p.m.  Additionally, graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the 
West Line Street Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monsignor Kevin Cleary will officiate.

Born to Louis B. Depweg and Sarah Elizabeth Craig Depweg on May 12, 1916 in Anaheim, Mrs. Pomykata died at 
her home in Bishop on Sept. 7, 2003.

She attended Dominican Sisters St. Joseph's Academy in Anaheim and Fullerton Junior College.  She was 
employed by the Union Oil Company in Los Angeles until her marriage to 1st Lieutenant Joseph M. Pomykata in 
June of 1941 in Dayton, Ohio.

Virginia was preceded in death by her son Martin.

She is survived by husband, Joseph; sons, Michael and Timothy; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Peter Sabin; 
and grandson, Alec Sabin.
