Willis F. Smith Dies Tuesday at Independence

Willis F. Smith died Tuesday morning at his home in Independence after a brief illness.  He 
was the father of Mrs. Miles Phillips of Los Angeles, formerly of Big Pine, and of Mrs. Ann 
Palmer of Big Pine.

Mr. Smith was born in Henry County, Illinois, on November 24, 1869, and was 73 years, one 
month, and five days of age.  He had lived in Independence for about a year, and in Owens 
Valley for 14 years.  He is survived by his wife, Mary L. Smith.

Funeral services directed by Albright Memorial Chapel occurred afternoon at Independence 
with Interment at Lone Pine.
