Elliott, Juanita Pearl - Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park for Juanita Pearl Elliott, 77, who died Feb. 26 in Bakersfield. Mrs. Elliott was born in Kentucky, Feb. 1, 1911, and had lived in the Kern County area for many years. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Elliott of Bakersfield; daughter, Lanier of Bakersfield; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Turner of Illinois. Mining Man Died At Oildale Home

William H. Ely Was Leader of Randsburg Co; Well Known in Kern

William H. Ely, widely known Kern County mining man died yesterday at his home, 117 Wilson Avenue, Oildale, at the age of 76. He was a native of Illinois and came to San Diego Co. by covered wagon in 1862. He came to Bakersfield in 1899 and had been a resident here ever since. For many years Mr. Ely was an employee of Chanslor Canfield Midway Oil Co. He was formerly president of the Comet Mining Co. and at the time of his death was president of the Rand Mountain Silver Mining Company of Randsburg. Mr. Ely is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nettie S. Ely with whom he celebrated his Golden wedding anniversary in 1936; three sons, Eric W. Ely and Bernard C. Ely, both of Bakersfield and Laurence R. Ely of Fresno; two daughters, Mrs. J. G. Blizard and Miss Bernice N. Ely of Oildale and four grandchildren. Mr. Ely was a member of Neighbors of Woodcraft and the First Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow after noon at 2 o'clock at Payne & Son Chapel with the Reverend Calvin Allen officiating. Burial will be in the perpetual care section of Union Cemetery.

The Rev. Durwood Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in Shafter Cemetery. Born Aug. 20, 1884 in Ark. she had resided in Shafter 9 years. She leaves two sons, Tom and Rex, both of Shafter; two brothers, Robert and Abraham Beach of Missouri, a sister Mrs. Marh (I did not make a typo) Ash of San Jose.

Enyeart, Rex Lyle - funeral services were to be held this afternoon in the Armstrong Mortuary, Shafter for Rex Lyle Enyeart, 37, of 1504 Norris Rd, Oildale who died Friday night. The pastor of the Union Congregational Church, Shafter was to officiate and interment was to follow in the Shafter Cemetery. Mr. Enyeart was a native of Kansas and had lived in Kern Co. for the past 16 years. He is survived by his father, Roy Enyeart of Kansas and one brother, Tom Enyeart of Oildale.

Delano Baby Dies on Way to Hospital

Delano Jan. 25 - Donald R. Epp, 10 month old baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur G. Epp died on Tuesday night at 7:30 o'clock while on the way to a Bakersfield hospital. The child's death came unexpectedly after only a few days illness with stomach and bowel trouble. He was a native of Delano and is survived by his parents and one brother. Funeral services have been set for Friday at 2:30 o'clock from the Chapel of the Delano Funeral Parlor. Interment will be in Delano Cemetery.

Headline: Hold Solemn Rites for Deceased Judge

Mass for Emery Titus Erb, 78, retired police judge formerly of Monterey, who died here Friday will be solemnized at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Francis church by the Rev. Father M. J. Stack. The remains will be interred in Union Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara.

Mr. Erb died at the Kern River oil field home of his daughter, Mrs. Tom Larkins. He had resided in Kern County about 6 months.



EWINGS, HENRY LEE - At the request of the deceased, no services are scheduled for Henry Lee Ewings, 81, who passed away June 28, in Bakersfield. Mr. Ewings was born in Coopers Tract, Penn. and worked all of his life in the water and oil wells drilling business. He also worked as a construction worker. Bowling was his great hobby and he won many trophies. He is survived by his daughter Carol and 3 grandchildren. Brothers; Frank, Raymond and Robert, Sisters; Grace Spencer and Ella Phelps.

EWINGS, Thomas Eugene - Rosary services will be held Wed. At 6:30 pm at St. Frances Catholic Church, 10th and H Street, for Thomas Eugene Ewings, 64, who died May 22nd in a Bakersfield Hospital after a short illness. Catholic graveside rights will be held Thurs. at 9 am in Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery. He was a native of Clarion Co., Pennsylvania and had lived in Kern Co. for the last 36 years. He was a building maintenance supervisor for over 10 years and was affiliated with Continental Telephone Co. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen F Ewings of Bakersfield, his devoted daughters, Linda Gayle Collom and Judith Ann Deichler both of Bakersfield; his brothers, Frank and Henry of Bakersfield and Bobby of Pennsylvania; his sisters Grace and Ellie; his admiring grandchildren, Tim Collom of Bakersfield, Terri and Michael Collom both of Costa Mesa and Tammy Firth of San Diego and a great granddaughter, Erika Collom of Bakersfield.
