Garner, Maude Effie - Services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Mish funeral Home - Oildale for Maude Effie Garner, 89, 217 Louella, who died June 19 in a Bakersfield hospital after a long illness. The Rev. H. V. Higgins of Sunshine Full gospel church will officiate with interment following in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Garner, a native of Glena, Mo., lived in Bakersfield since 1935. She had lived in the Lamont area prior to moving to Bakersfield. Survivors include her husband William Oscar Garner, two sons, Thomas Garner of Bakersfield and Lee of Lamont; four daughters Nellie Smith of Green Acres, Gladys Garner, Addie Wilbanks and Dorothy Starr all of Bakersfield, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Donald O'Dell, Ronnie O'Dell, Ron Garrett, Thomas Garner, Mike Smith and Earl Aday.

A resident of Bakersfield for the past 32 years, Mr. Geers is survived by 2 sons, Ray Geers, 308 Crawford St. and Russell Geers, 3300 Q Street; two daughters, Mrs. Keith Wheeler, 824 Thirty-first Street and Mrs. Harvey Fessler, 705 Wisteria Street; five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence A. Mulock, Bakersfield; Chauncey D. Mulock, Jamestown, CA; and one sister, Mrs. Lillian Mitchell, Oakland. He was a member of Kern Lodge I.O.O.F.

Mr. Geers was a native of California and had lived in Bakersfield 49 years. He is survived by his wife Clara Elizabeth Geers, Bakersfield; son, Raymond Geers, Bakersfield; daughter, Elsie Geers, Bakersfield; and two sisters, Edris Fessler, Bakersfield and Evelyn Wheeler, Green Acres.

Gibbons, James A. - Services will be held at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. for James A. Gibbons, 86, who passed away April 16 in Bakersfield. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Peacock of The Calvary Bible Church. Mr. Gibbons was born in Livingston, Tenn., and had been an oil worker for 40 years, employed by Getty Oil Company. He was a member of the Coalinga Masonic Lodge #387. He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Bakersfield; three sons, Earle and Jimmy Gibbons, both of Bakersfield, Jerry Gibbons of Oakland, Calif.; three sisters, Cuma Thompson of Livingston, Tenn., Jessie Garret of Cookeville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ray of Chicago and Amos Gibbons of Detroit; ten grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Casket bearers will be the grandsons of Mr. Gibbons, Eric, Jeffery, Gregory, Scott, Jamie Gibbons, and Wesley Reece. Visitation will be at hillcrest Mortuary, interment will be in Sunrise Lawn in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Father Peter Lambert will officiate and interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Glazos was born January 2, 1892 in Greece and had resided in Kern County for 32 years. She was a member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
Survivors include her son, John Kangles of Bakersfield; daughters) Margaret Kelley of Santa Rosa and Sophie Loudon of Wisconsin; and seven grandchildren.

Private Graveside Funeral Services will be held Monday at noon in Shafter Cemetery for Francis William Goar, 68, who died July 13, in a Bakersfield hospital. Rev. Paul Gilbert of Faith Bible Church in Santa Maria will officiate. Mr. Goar was a native of Bakersfield and had lived here all his life. He was a Motor Mechanic for over 15 years and had been working for Jim Burke Ford. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a second generation Californian and was a member of the American Legion Post No. 26.
Survivors include his beloved wife Dorothy Elda Goar of Bakersfield; his step-children, Gordon Robinson and Donna Edwards both of Nevada, Sally Lyttaker of Bloomington, Bill Whitsett of Fontana and Kathleen Whitsett of San Bernardino; his brother, Charles Chuck and Mary Goar of Bakersfield; 12 step-grandchildren and 1 great step-grandchild; a niece, Gail and Tom Dennison; and a grand nephew, Michael Dennison. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home, 399-9391.

Fannie Golden Services Held
The Rev. Lloyd Cagle, pastor of the Assembly of God Church, officiated Monday morning at funeral services for Fannie Ava Golden, 2035 Oxford St. Services were held at the Delano Mortuary Chapel. Interment was at the Delano-McFarland Cemetery.
Mrs. Golden died Wednesday, July 13 in Sacramento. She was born June 1, 1889, in Arkansas.
She is survived by her husband George G. Golden; three daughters, Irene Hoover, Earlimart, Leona Bryant, Delano, and Edith Hunt, Earlimart; three sons, H. H. Golden, Oklahoma, Ralph Golden, Texas and Clyde Golden, Delano; the following sisters and brothers: Maude Glover, Okla., Blaine Glover, Okla., Alpha Glover, Calif., and Mattie Mullineaux, Wash.;11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer. He is survived by two sons, Ralph of Delano and Clyde of Barstow; three daughters, Irene Horner of Pixley, Edith Wyrick of Porterville and Leona Bryant of Georgia; a sister, Hannah Griffen of Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The service will be conducted by Jimmy Adams of the Church of Christ. Arrangements were made by Delano Mortuary.

Goodwin, Max T. - Memorial services will be held Friday, February 13 at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Whittier for Max T. Goodwin, 71, of Bakersfield, who died February 10, 1987, at Kern Medical Center following a valiant fight against cancer. He was born in Park City, Utah and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1920's. He moved to Bakersfield, 2 years ago to be close to his son, after his wife of 45 years passed away in February of 1985. He is survived by his son, Scott (Tex) and JuDee Goodwin of Bakersfield; his sisters, Doris, Gloria and Dorcas of Southern Calif; his grandchildren, Michael, Robben, Kimry, Gregory, Robert and Great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sadie, all of Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kern Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary.

Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial park, Garden of Peace on Wednesday July 16 at 10 a.m. for Erma N. Grady, 77, who passed away in Bakersfield July 10, 1997, to be with our Jesus In Heaven. Pastor Arnold Niemeyer Sr. of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God will officiate.
Erma was born May 12, 1920 In Coal Hill, Arkansas to Luther and Rosalee Holt, the third of six children. She was a member of Faith Temple P.C.G. Erma was last employed at Corkey's Cafe. Following her retirement she enjoyed fishing. Erma was preceded in death by her oldest son, Julian R. Grady in 1969; by her husband Julian E. Grady in 1986, and by one grandson Byran McDaniel In 1992.
Erma is survived by her three sons and daughters In-law, Jerry and Dee Grady of Farmersville, CA., Dick and Sunny Grady of Delano, and Michael Grady of Bakersfield; by three daughters and son in law, Gipsy and Ray Nichols of Bakersfield, Sue Rodman of Arroyo-Grande, and Deborah Rodman of Bakersfield by one sister, Irene Poyner, of Lindsay; one brother, Lester Holt of Russellville, Ark., and by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 15 at Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors, 701 34th St. from 2:00 until 5:00p.m.
Special thinks go to Ermas granddaughter, Stephanie Lang for taking care of her grandmother for 19 months. Thanks to Ruby Cordova, Phyllis Wood, and Debby Green for being there for her last week. Great appreciation to Rev. Niemeyer Sr. for being, there from the start and at her passing and all the prayers. Thanks to Hoffman Hospice for their help and John from All Medical. The family suggests memorials in her name to Faith Temple or Hoffman Hospice.

Surviving the West Side man are his widow, Dorothy T. Green; one son, Raymond L. Green, and three daughters, Miss Dixie Green and Mrs. Laura Jo Bonsal, all of Taft, and Mrs. Bonnie Bryant, Ashdown, Arkansas; two brothers, Teamer Green, Porterville and Oscar Green, Frederick, Oklahoma; one sister Mrs. Willie Grady, Arkansas and 2 grandchildren.

He has resided here one year. Greer, a retired farmer, was born in Texas April 17, 1870. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Meyers of Bakersfield; Mrs. T.L. Hankins of Los Angeles; and Mrs. James McCarthy of San Francisco; two sons, A. D. Greer of Bakersfield and A. L. Greer of Abilene Texas; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a brother, Leon Greer of Abilene, Texas. The Reverend Dale Hufft officiated.
