Walck, Juanita Janeva - services will be held in Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel Friday, October 11 at 3 p.m. for Juanita Janeva Walck, 82, who died October 7 in Bakersfield. Rev. Bob Winters of the Revival Tabernacle in Lamont will officiate. Mrs. Walck was born February 7, 1904, in Talihina, Okla. Survivors include her nephews, Albert Fowler of Lamont, Claud Fowler of Visalia, Melvin Fowler of Bakersfield and John Fowler of Bakersfield; nieces Gerry Williams of Bakersfield, May Manning of Bakersfield, Cathy Cozbey of Bakersfield, Doris Foster of Bakersfield and Shirley Bishop of Lamont; sisters-in-law, Minnie Fowler of Lamont and Cora Fowler of Bakersfield; and many great-nieces and nephews and friends. A Memorial Services will be held August 21 at 3 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home for Homer Leroy Walker, Jr. who passed away August 11. Rev. Bud Frye will officiate.
Homer was born November 19, 1918 in 3iitler, Pennsylvania. He has resided in California for 41 years and in Bakersfield since 1960. He was a salesman for Swift & Co. Ice Cream Division for several years before becoming a maintenance engineer for the State of California, Dept. of Water Resources. Homer retired in 1985. He was a member of American Legion Post 682, a Mason of Lodge 415 Pulaski, N.Y., Scottish Rite Lodge, Council, Chapter Consistory of Valley of Syracuse, N. Y. and a veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean E. Walker of Bakersfield; daughters, Ethel Evans of Spencer, W. Virginia, Jayne Riplog; son, Homer Walker III of Bakersfield; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jane McCutcheon of Hanford.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Kern County Chapter or Crippled Children's Society of Bakersfield.

He had been a Fireman for 31 years and was last employed by the Kern County Fire Department. He was a member of the Footprinters International, the Masonic Lodge Caledonia Chapter #486, California Fire Chiefs and the Cattlemans Association. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughters, Janet Dean and Chris Powers, all of Bakersfield; brother, Elmer Washman of Auburn; sister, Mable Krieb of Temple city; and three grandchildren. Dorothy was born on September 18, 1926 in Shelton, WA. She was employed by Vests Drugs for 10 years and the Bakersfield Lodge for 3 years. As "Grandma and Aunt Dorothy." she touched many lives and will be remembered for her loving generosity to all.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Weadon; brother Ellis Pomeroy and sister Pat Marin; brother-in-law, John Bachman.
She is survived by her brothers, John Pomeroy and Bob Watson; sister-in-law Dorothy Pomeroy; sister Betty Marie Bachman; daughter Mickey Olive and her husband Doug; son, Bill I. Miller; grandchildren, Tanya Snyder and her husband Jeff; Mike and Steven Olive, Kimberly Carter and 9 great grandchildren.
The family appreciates Dr. Arun Keni and his family for their compassion and friendship. A special thank you to Lib and Pat Shearer for the many years of love and caring.

She and her husband, John S. Werts, owned and operated their own grocery store on Washington Ave. in Oildale for over 30 years. She received her Real Estate license when she was 72 years old. She is a member of the United Order of Druids, Circle number 107, Bakersfield Chapter 56. Was a Past Arch Druidess and member for over 50 years. Was a member of Pocahontas Order No. 215.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John S. Werts; her children, Homer and Pat Werts of Concord, John Jr., Bonnie Werts of Bakersfield; Nadine Kelly Smouse of Nevada and Sara Jane and Jesse Hoefer of Bakersfield; also 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Services were held yesterday afternoon at Flickinger-Janzen Mortuary for Joseph Hardy Westbrook who succumbed Friday at the age of 55. Westbrook, a farmer, resided in Shafter over 22 years and was known by all old-timers here. He resided with his family at 309 Marengo in Shafter. Survivors are his wife Esther L. Westbrook and three sons, Walter W., Joseph H., Jr., and Harold Eddie Westbrook all of Shafter. Services were conducted by Elder Richard Monrow. Burial was in Shafter Cemetery Westbrook was born Sept. 21, 1893 in Detroit, Texas. Other relatives include two brothers, Sam W. Westbrook and Wylie Westbrook both of Shafter and four sisters Mrs. Allie Goodman, Wasco; Mrs. Dora Rodgers, Shafter; Lizzie Cody, Ringold, Okla.; and Mrs. Ella Gordon, Indianola, Okla. Pallbearers were Robert Mixon, Mason Alexander, B.O. Bird, E.G. Mann, Bud Connell and Floyd Whithead. Arrangements were handled by Flickenger-Janzen Mortuary.

Services for James Madison Westbrook were held in the Janzen Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 1947, with the Rev. Sam Welcoxon officiating. Mr. Westbrook was 65. Westbrook, who was a long time resident on Shafter passed away at his home last Wednesday, Sept. 17. His home was located at 149 Orange St. Born in Texas on Sept. 3, 1882. Westbrooks occupation was farming. He came to Shafter 16 years ago and was a retired farmer at the time of his death. Westbrook is survived by his wife Clemie Westbrook of Shafter, one son James W. Westbrook of Wasco; one stepson, Charles Kilgore of Shafter; three daughters, Jonnie Derotha Westbrook of Shafter; Ida Hopper of Texas and Opal Sholar of Los Angeles. Also surviving him are 4 grandchildren, Novella, Waylan and Rona Kay Kilgore all of Shafter and Jimmie Myrick of Marysville, CA; four brothers, Sam, Hardy, and Wiley Westbrook, all of Shafter and Henry Westbrook of Okla.; four sisters, Dora Rodgers of Shafter; Allie Goodman of Wasco; Ella Goodman and Lizzie Cody both of Okla. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Armstrong Mortuary for Samuel Walter Westbrook, 73, of 30785 Elliott Dr., who died here Oct. 19. Rev. Sam Wilcoxon of the First Southern Baptist church officiated. Burial was in the Shafter Cemetery. Mr. Westbrook was a pioneer Shafter farmer and one of the early cotton growers in the Rio Bravo area. Survivors include the widow Callie, a son Oliver, a brother John W. and a sister, Mrs. Ella Gordon.

She moved from Texas to Okla. when she was a young woman, then moved to Calif. where she worked for Camp-Roberts farms and during the war she worked for Kern County Land Co. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a 30 year member of the Shafter American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter Mary Elizabeth Holland of Bakersfield, a brother, Robert Leon Gibson of Santa Ana, a sister Zoe Bauder of Ontario, Ore. 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Walter W. Westbrook, 85, died last evening at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. L. Rogers. Although he had been ill for some tine, death was unexpected. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Janzen Chapel. The Rev. W. C. Harrison, minister of the Wasco Church of Christ will officiate and interment will be in Shafter Cemetery. Westbrook, who had been a resident of Shafter for the past 13 years, is survived by five sons, Henry and Wiley of Wright City, Oklahoma, and Hardie, Jim, & Sam of Shafter; four daughters, Ella Gordon of Indiahomo, Oklahoma, Lizzie Cody of Ringold, Oklahoma, Mrs. Allie Myrick and Mrs. Dora Rogers of Shafter; 30 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The Rev. Olin Collins officiated. Interment was in Tehachapi Eastside Cemetery. Mrs. Whitlow was born in Muscatine, Iowa where she married Peter Whitlow on Nov. 23, 1940. She was a California resident for 22 years and had lived the past 4 years in Tehachapi. "Red was born July 10, 1916 in Murphy, North Carolina but claimed Georgia as his home. He moved to California in 1937.
Red worked for Superior Oil Co. for 39 years, retiring as Production Superintendent April 30, 1978. He enjoyed working in his garden, camping, fishing, and all the good times with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Gordon Whitmore, mother, Bethanie Poteete Whitmore, and brother R.E. Whitmore. He is survived by Elynn Marie, his wife of 51 years; children Bob & Sue Whitmore, Bill & Diane Whitmore, James & Susie Minyard, Pat & Nancy Nickolls; grandchildren David & Trina, Craig, Jenny, Joshua, Dawn, Sam, Katie, Kelly, Mark & Laura; great-grandchildren, Joseph, William, & Mark Christian. Harold Wiens - Services were held Monday in the Mennonite Brethren Church, Shafter, for Harold Wesley Wiens, 63, who died of a n unexpected heart attack Thursday, Sep. 8. Rev. Harry Harder and Rev. Henry Dick officiated and interment followed in the Shafter Memorial park. Mr. Wiens was born in Bakersfield and had resided in Shafter 41 years with his wife Rosie (Unruh) Wiens. In 1952 he opened Shafco Plumbing and Electric, a business which he carried on for 31 years. He also farmed the J. E. Unruh homestead until his death. He was an active member of the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church where he served as a member of the Board of Trustees and took care of the public address system for more than 25 years. In 1942 he joined the Army Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and inspector. Mr. Wiens was also a member of the North kern Aviation Club. A Harold Wiens memorial Fund for the Physically and Emotionally Handicapped has been established and donations may be made in care of the Mennonite Brethren Church, Shafter. Pallbearers were Del Robnett, Art Penner, Oscar Bergman, Jake Berger, Don Klingenberg, and Lee Bergman. Harper of Compton; 3 grandchildren, David Willis of Ventura, Earl Willis and Judy Ann Willis, both of Bakersfield. WILSON, James A. Funeral services for James A. Wilson, 68, 1719 Blanche St., who died Saturday in a local hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Payne and Sons Funeral Home with the Reverend Hollister B. Miller officiating. Members of Eagles Lodge, Aerie 93, will conduct graveside services at Union Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was a native of Missouri and lived in Bakersfield 47 years. He came here about 1910 and worked as a driller for various oil companies until 1946. Mr. Wilson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gail E. Chiros; sister, Mayme Wilson; nephews, Harry, William, &Eugene Wilson all of Bakersfield; nieces, Lois Wilson of Bakersfield, and Mrs. Phoebe Dineen of San Francisco; grandson William R.
