About the Glendora Genealogical Group:

The Glendora Genealogical Group is a group of people who are interested in genealogy and live in the Glendora, California area. Despite the name, few, if any, of them are doing research on ancestors who may have lived in Glendora. Most are researching family lines elsewhere, and get together once a month to hear speakers, watch videos, go on field trips, and share genealogical information. Visitors are welcome to join us.

 

General Meeting Information:

General Meetings are held at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of each month (except December) at

   The Elm Room

   La Fetra Center

   333 E. Foothill Blvd.

   Glendora, Los Angeles County, California

 

Genealogy Workshops:

Genealogy Workshops are offered on a variety of subjects at 6:00 p.m. before the General Meeting. Come join other people interested in doing more effective research on their ancestors.

 

Directions: Take Foothill Blvd. three blocks east of Glendora Ave. Turn left (north) at the intersection of Foothill Blvd. and Minnesota Ave.  Parking is on the street or in the lot across the street.  Enter the building through the Minnesota Ave. entrance and take the stairs on your right. Membership Information:

Dues, payable in January, are $20.00 for individuals, $25.00 for a family. Please send your check, payable to Glendora Genealogical Group, along with your name, address, phone number, and email address, to Glendora Genealogical Group, P.O. Box 1141, Glendora, CA 91740.

GENERAL MEETING:
      Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 7:00 p.m.
      Meeting Topics: Installation of Officers for 2012 and
          Share An Heirloom. Please bring your heirlooms or other items you wish to share with the members to this meeting.
WORKSHOP:
     Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 6:00 p.m.
     Meeting Topic: The questions I am asked most often is "How can I organize my genealogy STUFF?" Our workshop this month will be interactive one between members and me on how you can organize your genealogy, what systems are you using and sharing our information with the other members of our group in attendance. So bring your questions and be prepared to join in the discussion. If you need one of the handouts, they will be available at our meeting.

FIELD TRIP:
     We will discuss where to go this month at our meeting. I am leaning towards SCGS in Burbank because this is one of the Saturdays that they are open for research.
