BRADFORD-MIRABEL SCHOOL

(Picture unavailable)

When the Bradford Mirabel mine was producing at its peak, there was a thriving community of 250-300. A schoolhouse was built in 1890; also a store which included a postoffice. The little reddish-brown schoolhouse was located on the hill north of the mine, visible from the highway. In 1924 the old cookhouse, schoolhouse and store were torn down. In later years a forest fire swept over Mirabel destroying the last structures.
