Mrs. Dakin, Local Old-timer, Rites

Mrs. Elsie May Dakin, 77, died Tuesday in her home at 112 Riverside.
Mrs. Dakin was born May 17, 1874, in Josephine county, Or., the daughter of Charles and Sarah Hartson. She was married Mar. 20, 1892, to Clarence E. Dakin.
In 1895 Mrs. Dakin and her husband moved to their ranch home near Standish, residing there until November, 1943, when they disposed of their ranch property and moved to Susanville.
Mrs. Dakin was a loyal member of the Rebekah lodge having joined the order in Janesville 50 years ago. At the time of her death she was a member of Social Rebekah Lodge No. 101 of Susanville.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Leota Bigelow, of Susanville; and two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Holmes of Susanville and Mrs. Hattie Theodore of Gridley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Susanville Methodist church, with the Social Rebekah Lodge officiating. Interment will be in Lassen cemetery.
