Augustus Bishop Is Buried With Military Honors
Funeral services were held yesterday for Augustus Bishop, at 3:00 p.m. in the Methodist Church.
Mr. J.A. Pardee read the Masonic lodge ritual as Reverend E.L. Spaulding acted as chaplain for the lodge. The following lodges attended in bodies: Eastern Star, Court of Amaranth, Knights Templar, Jobs Daughters, DeMolay, Elks and American Legion.
Interment was in the 'Elks Rest' in Lassen Cemetery during which the American Legion fired a salute at the grave. Taps was played for the deceased by Teddy Rodgers.
Pallbearers were: C.H. Vincent, A.L. Lucero, Dan Moran, Elton S. Millar, W.E. Hunt and W.V. Hardy.
Bishop was a very prominent lodge member and well known throughout the county. The Methodist Church was filled to capacity with former friends who are saddened by his death. Many beautiful floral pieces were placed about the church, by his friends.
