JOSEPH V. CRIVELLO

A dealer in cigars whose leaders are all favorites and whose patrons are the same steady buyers who know a good thing when they smoke it, is Joseph V. Crivello, of 205 Alvarado street, Monterey, where he owns a half interest in the Star Pool Room. He was born in Italy, November 2, 1892, the son of Vincent and Frances (Coniglio) Crivello, and he came to the United States with his father in 1908. The latter remained here until 1911, when he returned to his native land.

Educated in the public schools of Italy, Joseph V. Crivello afterward took up fishing and followed it in that country until coming to the United States in 1908. On arriving at Monterey, California, he continued in that pursuit for six years, then opened a cigar store and pool room, which he ran for three years. He went to Alaska in 1917 to fish for a season, and on returning to California, settled again at Monterey. He had accumulated some means, but he met with reverses, causing him to commence all over again. However he now owns a half interest in the Star Pool Room.

Mr. Crivello married Miss Frances Flores, a native of California and they have two children, Vincent and Frances. Mr. Crivello is a republican, and more than that he is one hundred per cent an adopted American, and of such a type as any community would be proud to include in its citizen lists.
