Robert T. Pate of Salinas, a lifelong resident of Monterey County died Saturday at Salinas Valley Memorial Hoispital after a long illness. He was 75.

Born Sept. 26, 1910, in Monterey, Mr. Pate attended Monterey Schools and graduated from Monterey High School. He lived in Salinas for 35 years and had worked as a bartender at the Carriage Room for 20 years. He was a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Maddona del Sasso Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife Helen, brother Edmund of New York City, and several nieces and nephews.

The rosary will be recited today at 7:30 p.m. at Whiehurst Muller Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Madonna del Sasso Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
