(Note: microfilm fades out in places) The funeral service of the late A.J. Steiner was held this afternoon at the family residence at the corner of Fountain avenue and Park Place, Pacific Grove. The services were in charge of Rev. L. M. Burwell, D.D., assisted by the Rev. E.R. Pullen, D.D., of San Francisco, a close friend of the family, and Rev. W.J. Peters. The public schools of the city were closed for the afternoon out of respect for Mr. Steiner, and the teachers attended the funeral services in a body. The High School students also attended in a body. The flags on the school are flying at half mast. A choir composed of Miss Estelle Koch, E.C. Hurlbert and J. Sherman Woolf sang the following hymns of Mr. Steiner - ..... Light", "Rock of Ages", ... and "Sweet Bye and Bye". Pallbearers were from the ... Masons, and the ....wers as well. .... Shipped to Woodland on the ... o'clock train, where the ... take place. Undertaker ... services in charge. Many beautiful flora ... by the friends of the ... among them being ones ... school Board, and another ... students and teachers at the Grove high school.

Pacific Grove Personals - Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Steiner and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Steiner came yesterday to attend the funeral of their father.
