ACCIDENT VICTIM SUCCUMBS TODAY
Shonny Artellan, 45 wounded when he accidently discharged a high powered rifle at his Carmel Highlands cabin several days ago, died today in a local hospital. The weapon was discharged when he lost his balance while putting it on a gun rack.
A native of Monterey, Atrellan had lived here all of his life and had hundreds of friends in all parts of Monterey County. Fond of horses he worked on nearby ranches for many years and was known as a skilled horseman.
Artellan is survived by a sister, Mrs. Harry Shaw of Monterey and two brothers, Mike Artellan and D. Artellan also of Monterey. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Freenan Mortuary and will be announced later.
