Helen M. Barbie
Helen M. Barbie a lifelong Monterey Peninsula resident, died Sunday at Community Hospital following a brief illness. She was 75.
Born in Monterey on May 8, 1907, she recently moved to Seaside. She was a homemaker, a member of a pioneer California family and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
In January she and her husband celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include her husband Anthony J.; daughter Edith H. Stoglin of Seaside; sisters, Theresa Berquist and Ida Winters both of Seaside, and Viola Wolters of Corning; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Chapel of Seaside Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, with Monsignor Tod D. Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside.
