Vivian C Gilmore

Vivian C. Gilmore, 77, a resident of Seaside for 17 years, died Sunday at the Hospice of the Monterey Peninsula after a brief illness.

Mrs. Gilmore was born in Monterey on Oct. 12 1908, but moved to San Francisco, where she lived most of her life, returning to Seaside in 1960. For 30 years she was a telephone switchboard operator for various companies.

She was a member of the Women's Ambulance and Defense Corps, San Francisco unit, from 1942 to 1947.

Surviving are two sisters, Florence Mellor of Fresno and Ethel Marlow of San Francisco.

At Mrs. Gilmore's request, no services were held.

Private cremation has been held, followed by inurment ay Mount Olivet Memorial Park, Colma. The Chapel of Seaside was in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of the Monterey Peninsula.
