James Herbert Naylor, a retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, died Tuesday at the Monterey Hotel, 406 Alvarado St., where he lived and worked as afternoon desk clerk. The coroner’s office said he died of natural causes. Mr. Naylor was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Newton, Mass. He was a World War II veteran. He leaves a sister, Muriel A. Naylor, in Hartford, Conn. Funeral arrangements are being made by Mission Mortuary.
