Married At Fort Ord
Mary Frances Kanne and Lt. Eugene Coryell Jacobs II (USA), both of Pacific Grove, exchanged marriage vows Saturday in a military wedding at Fort Ord’s main chapel. Chaplain Anthony P. Willwerding (Lt. Col., USA) performed the early afternoon ceremony, and a reception followed in the Terrace Room of the Naval Postgraduate School officers’ club. The bride’s floor length gown of white taffeta, appliquéd with Venise lace medallions, was designed in Empire style with a silk organza train. A cluster of silk organza petals held her shoulder length, circular veil, and she carried a bouquet of white roses, chrysanthemums and baby’s breath. Therea Kanne of Fresno was her sister’s maid of honor. Two other sisters, Francine and Cecilia Kanne, were the bridesmaids. Capt. (USA) Dave Danker of Fort Ord served as best man. Ushers were Lt. (USA) Bob Carr of Fort Ord, Lt. (USA) Ted Williams of Monterey and Lt. (USN) Steve Weber of Pacific Grove. The bride, who is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William P. Kanne of Fresno, is employed as dietician at the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. She attended Fresno State College. Her husband, son of Dr. and Mrs. Eugene C. Jacobs of Vero Beach, Fla., attended Valley Forge Military Academy and De Pauw University in Indiana before being commissioned a first lieutenant in the Army. The couple honeymooned in Carmel and Big Sur. They are living in Pacific Grove.
