Natalie Marie Scardina of Carmel Valley and John Charles Gardiner Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz., ere married at noon Saturday in St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Carmel Valley. The Rev. James Brock conducted the ceremony. Following a reception at High Top Ranch in Carmel Valley, the newlyweds left for Scottsdale, where the bridegroom, son of John Gardiner of Carmel Valley and the late Barbara Jane Gardiner, is employed at his father’s tennis ranch. The groom is the brother of Thomas Gardiner of Del Mar, Mrs. Dennis Kyger of Carmel Valley, and Mrs. Clayton McKnight of Scottsdale. The bride, who attended Carmel High School, as did the groom, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter T. Scardina and the sister of Peter A. Scardina, all of Carmel Valley. Her floor-length wedding gown was of embroidered ivory silk, and she carried a cascade bouquet of ivory rosebuds, freesias and greenery. Mrs. Peter A. Scardina was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Michael Miller and Ashley Hood of Carmel Valley, and Mrs. Patrick Hitchcock of Salinas. Joseph DeMaria of Carmel Valley was best man. Ushers were Clayton McKnight of Scottsdale, Thomas Gardiner, Dennis Kyger and Peter A. Scardina.
