Carl Stickan, well-known resident of Seaside, died yesterday while on a visit to San Francisco. He was stricken with a heart attack while driving from the city and pulled into a service station to summon medical aid, but was pronounced dead on arrival by ambulance at the Park Emergency Hospital. Mr. Sticken was born Sept. 14, 1903, in Dicphohz, Germany. A retired U.S. Army captain, he was a veteran of World War II. A Seaside resident since 1943, his home wa s at 615 Amador Ave. Active in veteran affairs on the Peninsula, Mr. Stickan was a past commander of the 28th District of the American Legion, a past commander of Seaside American Legion Post 591, and served as secretary of the Seaside Veterans Memorial District. He also was a member of GP Lodge 331 F&AM, Scottish Rite, San Jose Consistory, Order of Eastern Star Ocean Spray Chapter 68 of Pacific Grove, the 5th Infantry Assn. of Portland, Me., and the Retired Officers Assn. He is survived by his wife, Ina M. Stickan of Seaside; two sons, Arthur S. Osterlund of San Francisco and Andrew A. McNinch of Portland, Me.; two sisters, Doris Storck and Frea Nuns, and two brothers, Henry and Alfred Stickan, all living in Germany. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. from the Paul Funeral Chapel with the Pacific Grove Masonic Lodge officiating. Members of the Seaside American Legion Post will act as pallbearers. Burial with full military honors will be held Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. at the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.

Rites Tomorrow for Carl Stickan
Funeral services for Carl Stickan, well known resident of Seaside who succumbed to a heart attack Friday in San Francisco, will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Paul Funeral Chapel with the Pacific Grove Masonic Lodge officiating. Pallbearers will be Vince Pappalardo, John Swolgaard, Howard Ingels, Orencio Perez, Alex Chernoff and Vern Allred. All are members of the Seaside American Legion post, of which Mr. Stickan was a past commander. Full military honors will be paid in burial services to be held at 2:15 p.m. tomorrow in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
