Evia M. Hines and Alfred L. Givich United in Double Ring Ceremony at Raymond Conway Home Here; Many Guests Present
Evia M. Hines and Alfred L. Givich, both of Oakland, were united in marriage by a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Thomas J. Barkle of Pacific Grove, Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m., at the home of the groom’s brother, Raymond J. Conway, of Pacific Grove. The bride wore a two piece ice blue rayon taffeta afternoon dress with black and white snakeskin sandals and her corsage was of orchids and Lily of the Valley. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. George Dunn of Castro Valley. She wore a lime green crepe afternoon dress and an orchid corsage. Willard Conway served as best man for his brother. The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. Conway Newell of Pacific Grove, wore a blue dress, with an orchid corsage. Lavender and white chrysanthemums provided the decorations, with ferns and smilax throughout the house. A four-tiered wedding cake, surrounded by lavender and white chrysanthemums, was cut by the bride and groom, followed by buffet refreshments. Music was furnished by Leon Sieff, violinist, and Roy Larson at the piano, friends of the bride and groom from Piedmont and San Francisco. The bride has been a resident of Piedmont and Oakalnd for many years, where she operated a Gift shoppe. Mr. Givish is the oldest son of Mrs. Conway Newell of Pacific Grove. He has lived in Oakland, where he is business partnership with his brothers Williard Conway of Oakland and Raymond Conway of Pacific Grove, public accountants. After the reception the bride donned a green suit and double mink scarf and hat to match and a snakeskin shoes and bag. The wedding dinner was served to the immediate family at Casa Munras, Monterey. Mr. & Mrs. Givish will reside at 857 Brookwood road, Oakland, after Dec. 1. Guests attending the ceremony and reception were Mr. & Mrs. Karl Schmidt of Sacramento, Ted Aydelute and Leon Sieff and friend of Piedmont, Sherman Fulk of Seattle, Wash.; Eunice Cupples and N.J. Danna, Santa Clara; Mr. & Mrs. George Gunn and daughter, Juanita, of Castro Valley; Mr. & Mrs. Sidney Rapp of Berkeley; Mr. & Mrs. Swedal Wandu of Hayward, Dorothea and Roy Larson, Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Morgan, Mr. & Mrs. Carl L. Dietz, Hazel Hendon, Margarete Hayden, Mrs. Ruth Anderson, J&M C.F. Linenold, all of San Francisco; M& George Lieh, Roy and Rose Monroe, Frank Monroe and friend; Amelia and Jack Rantala, Mr. & Mrs. Ross Cushing, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Carroll, Rowena Rood, Helen Strain, Leonard E. Thompson, Mr. & Mrs. William Erhardt, Sam and Grace Doge, Mr. & Mrs. T.E. Voerckel, Mr. & Mrs. W.M. Goss, Mr. & Mrs. Steve Pavlina, Elinor King, Ann and Bud Possnecke, Mrs. Maria Arena, Charles Teal and Mr. & Mrs. W.T.
