Pacific Grove Review, CA June 15, 1906
Mr. & Mrs. Wilfred S. Lynch, who were married in San Jose on Friday at noon by Rev. W.J. Kelly of the Methodist Episcopal church, are spending their honeymoon in Oakland and San Francisco. The young couple were the recipients of many handsome and valuable presents. Among the gifts was a check for fity dollars from the bride’s father. [married Valerie Trine ‘02]
Miss Valerie Constance Trine, daughter of M^M E.E. Trine, was quietly married to Wilfred Sharp Lynch at San Jose on Friday. Only the families of the bride and groom were present. The bride is one of the most popular and charming young ladies of the Grove. She has spent her girl hood in this city and has won a host of friends who wish her complete happiness in her wedding life. For the past two years she has bene employed in the office of the Daily Review, where her departure leaves a gap which it will be hard to fill. The groom is well known in the Grove and during the several years of his residence here made a wide circle of friends. He is now in them employ of the Hawaiian Sugar Refining Company at Crockett. After a short bridal trip, the happy couple will be at home at Crockett to their many friends. On Wednesday night of this week. a number of Miss Trine'’ girl friends who had been advised of her approaching marriage, surprised her at her home with a linen and silver shower. Many beautiful and serviceable articles were showered upon her and the evening passed in joyous leave-taking. The house was tastefully decorated for the occasion by the bride’s sisters, Frances and Myrtle.
