Pacific Grove Tide, CA April 8, 1938
Marcella Tumbleson To Be Easter Bride
Popular Miss Marcella Tumbleson, who has just announced her decision to become Mrs. Stanley Keith Bishop, is caught up in a veritable whirl of complimentary entertainment with scarcely an unscheduled day between now and Easter Sunday, the date of the wedding. Their marriage is to take place at 2 o’clock that afternoon in Saint John’s Chapel in Del Monte. On Saturday, April 23rd, they will sail on the Matsonia for Honolulu where they will make their future home, so the parties being given are much in the nature of a farewell. The wedding date was made known a few days after the arrival of Stanley Bishop from Honolulu presumably on a visit here to his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. Douglas Bishop Jr. He was graduated from the Monterey High School in 1931 and for awhile was associated with his father in the nursery business. He left for Honolulu over a year ago with the Giggle Reyce orchestra to play at the Alexander Young hotel and later accepted his present position as superintendent of the gardens for the Royal Hawaiian hotel. Miss Tumbleson is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles G. Tumbleson of Pacific Grove and is the sister of Delmer, Reginald and Bill Tumbleson. She was graduated from the local high school with the class of 1931 and for the past three years has been secretary to W.J. Crabbe of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. She is a past worthy advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, and is a past grand representative of the State of Tennessee for the California Assembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls
