Prominent Man Dies Here Today
Perry Mauzey, well-known citizen of Pacific Grove, passed away this afternoon at his house, 210 Fifteen street, after an illness of several months duration. Mauzey was the owner of the Grove laundry, and held the position of city trustee, until he was forced to resign, on account of ill health, shortly before the last city election. Following his resignation, he traveled with his family in northern California, and returned to Pacific Grove somewhat improved in health. His condition became much worse however, about three weeks ago, and he steadily failed. Jesse Mauzey, a son of the deceased, was called home from his studies at the University of California, southern branch, about a week ago, on account of the illness of his father. A post mortum was held this afternoon, and further particulars will be given tomorrow.
