Washington, Jan. 6 (AP) – Forty nine California army officers are included in the new war department list of 336 American soldiers now prisoners of war in the Philippines. On the list were:
1st Lieut. Charles A. Frances; father, Charles A. Frances, Atherton.
1st Lieut. Basil J. Gilbert; wife, Mrs. Basil J. Gilbert, Watsonville.
1st Lieut. Benjamin E. Gwynn; mother, Mrs. Belle Gwynn, Salilnas.
Capt. Harold V. Munton, wife, Mrs. Harold V. Munton, Route 1, Box 31, Monterey.
Capt. Edward L. Walker; father, W.J. Walker, Santa Cruz.
Capt. Munton’s wife, Mrs. Margaret Munton, resides in East Monterey at Casanova and Fremont extension. She could not be reached by telephone today.
