Monterey PeninsulaHerald, CA Feb. 6, 1946 p2
Frank B. Cataia, boatswain’s mate 2/c, USNR, of Monterey, served aboard the USS Collingsworth, an attack transport which took part in hauling men into actions at Okinawa, Guam, Jinsen, Korea and Tientsin, China. On November 8, 1945, she started for the states as part of the Navy’s “Magic Carpet” fleet, with 1,500 veterans of all services as passengers.
