He entered the Academy following his graduation from Pacific Grove High School and a year of study at the University of New Mexico. The prospective bridegroom has asked his brother, Lt. (j.g.) Philbrick Bowhay to be his best man. Philbrick, for whom Brooks served as best man, is due home momentarily from Japan and his wife and their son, Scott, are at the Bowhay home in Pacific Grove awairting his call upon his arrival in San Francisco. Another brother, Michael, who will be a Pacific Grove High School senior in September, will be one of the ushers. Miss Garcia has asked Brooks’ sister, Shirley, to be a junior bridesmaid. Brooks has one other brother, Tommy, who will enter kindergarten this fall. He will be among the wedding guests, as will his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bowhay of Bakersfield. Miss Garcia was graduated from Redondo Union High School with the class of 1952 and has been attending the University of California at Santa Barbara majoring in home economics and pledged to Phi Beta Phi.
