Jean Marie Evans Wed
Jean Marie Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Evans of Pacific Grove, was married last Friday evening to David Elliott Goodman, son of Mrs. E. Maxwell of San Francisco. The Rev. J. Stanley Bellinger officiated at the double ring ceremony in Glide Memorial Methodist Church in San Francisco. Charles Solley sang “At Dawning” before the ceremony. Jean’s waltz length dress of white brocade was designed and made by the bride. Her shoulder length veil was fastened to a tiara of seed pearls, and she carried a single white orchid on her white Bible. Judith Evans was her sister’s only attendant, wearing a pink brocade gown and carrying a bouquet of pink carnations. Gayle Rucker was best man and the ushers were Robert Jahrling and Richard Pierce. Jean was given in marriage by her father, who also sang “The Lord’s Prayer” as the couple knelt at the altar. Mrs. Maxwell wore a navy blue suit with white trim for her son’s wedding. Mrs. Evans chose a black suit and pink accessories. Both mothers pinned on orchids. A reception was held in the church social hall. Guests from the Monterey Peninsula included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pearl of Carmel and Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Redington and son Oliver, Mrs. Ethel Grantham, Miss Dorothy Shafer, Mrs. Arthur Greilich, Marilyn Greilich, Robert L. Miller, the Rev. and Mrs. Bernard W. Lwory and Galen Lowry, all of Pacific Grove. The new Mrs. Goodman was graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1951, and Monterey Peninsula College in 1953. She is presently a student at San Francisco State College, where her husband had received his teaching credential last month. They will make their home in San Francisco.
