Don Dean to Wed A Southland Girl
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore E. Dean of Pacific Grove are making plans to be in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 30, when their son, Donald Edwin Dean, will claim Miss Marilyn Frances Boadt as his bride. The wedding will take place in the Shatto Chapel of the First Congregational Church. Donald Dean is well known on the peninsula, having grown up in Pacific Grove. He was graduated from Pacific Grove High School and Hartnell College, and received a bachelor of science degree in engineering at San Jose State College. A veteran of World War II, he is presently on the staff of the Sheriday-Gray company in Torrance. For a number of years Donald has played trombone with the Stewart quartet, opening the Bach Festival in Carmel, but wedding plans will preclude his participation this year. Miss Boadt is a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, where she received a bachelor of science degree having majored in business education. Lost year she taught in the Los Angeles school system, but this fall she will join the faculty of Torrance High School. Others who are planning to attend the weeding are Donald’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson W. Hyler (Olive Dean), and his aunts, Miss Gertrude Ernst of Pacific Grove, Mrs. Russell McMath of Watsonville and Mrs. John F. Mattos of Salinas. Best man for the wedding will be Robert Tyson, former Pacific Grove resident who now lives in Los Angeles.
