Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Feb. 9, 1943
Second Lieutenand Barbara McGill, is another local girl who has answered the country’s call for more war nurses. Lieutanant McGill is the daughter of Mrs. K.C. McGill of 416 Seventeenth street, Pacific Grove. She received her nurses’ training at the Samuel Merritt hospital in Oakland and was on the staff of the Peninsula Community Hospital. She joined the army in November 1941, and was stationed at Camp McQuaide for six months, then transferred to Camp Roberts. Lieutenant McGill will soon be on her way overseas.
