A Wedding In Pacific Grove
Anna Helene Pedro, great—granddaughter of the late Capt. Joseph Pedro of Monterey, became the bride of Patrick Michael Colgan of Pomona on Sept. 19 at the Christian Church of Pacific Grove. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Philip M. Pedro of Pacific Grove, and her brother is Philip M. Pedro Jr. of Orland. Rev. Perry W. Swann performed the double ring ceremony at 3 p.m. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length white brocade gown with a scalloped V-neck, soft pleats and short train. A peral crown held her shoulder length veil and she carried a bouquet of white stephanotis surrounding a single white orchid. Mary Margaret Swann of Pacific Grove, maid of honor, wore a street length dress of American beauty red brocade with a large matching bow on her hair. Her bouquet was of shaded pink carnations. The two bridesmaids, Shyla A. Sellars and Sarah E. Taylor, both of Pacific Grove, wore identical Paris pink taffeta dresses and carried nosegays of shaded pink carnations. The bridegroom, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.C. Colgan of Pomona, asked the bride’s brother, Philip Pedro Jr., to be his best man. Seating the guests were Paul L. Rowell of Fresno, Kenneth E Froman of Millbrae and Douglas Fritschle of Pacific Grove. Mrs. Pedro attended her daughter’s wedding in a rose beige brocade suit. She wore a yellow orchid corsage. The bridegroom’s mother chose a taupe knit suit with ice blue accessories and a white orchid corsage. Pink gladioli and white chrysanthemums decorated the Christian Church social hall for the reception following the ceremony. After a honeymoon in Sequois National Park, the newlyweds are making their home at 529 S. Richmond in Hanford, where the bridegroom is associated with the golden West Pancake House. The new Mrs. Colgan is a graduate of Pacific Grove High School and received her B.A. from the University of California-Berkeley. Her husband was graduated from Ganesha High School in 1960, attended Claremont College and served three years with the U.S. Army. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lewis C. Colgan of Tyndall, S.D.
