Monterey Peninsula Herald, CA Feb. 19, 1971
Wed in Pacific Grove
Judy Mary Compton, became the bride of Robin Dana Rasmussen in an early afternoon ceremony at the Pacific Grove Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Otis Keener, the church’s former pastor, now living in Costa Mesa, officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Amy L. Compton and Rome T. Compton, both of Pacific Grove. She was graduated from Pacific Grove High School, attended Monterey Peninsula College and worked for two and a half years as dental assistant to Dr. John Faia III of Monterey. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delwin C. Rasmussen of Pacific Grove, is also a Pacific Grove High School graduate. He attended Monterey Peninsula and Humboldt colleges and is serving with the U.S. Navy at Sand Point Naval Support Activity in Seattle, Wash. The bride wore a gown on white Chantilly lace in Victorian style, and a chapel-length Illusion veil bordered with matching lace. She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Ronald Post of Ojai, matron of honor, and her cousin, Judy Kirkish of San Jose and Patricia Hoffman of Pacific Grove. Sheri Post of Ojai and Danielle Compton of Marina were the flower girls, and William Post was ring bearer. James Nix of San Luis Obispo served as best man. Ushers were Frank Valentini of San Jose and Alan Merbs of Pebble Beach. A reception was held at the Pacific Grove Community Center. After two days at Big Sur, the young couple drove by way of the Redwood Highway to Seattle, where they are living.
