Mr. and Mrs. Thomas G. McCormick of Monterey have announced the engagement of their daughter, Susan Kathleen McCormick, to Richard Velasquez of Seaside. The future bride is an alumna of Monterey High School who now is employed by the City of Monterey. She is the sister of Janet McCormick of Monterey and Sandra McCormick of Chico. Her fiancé is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Velasquez of Seaside. A graduate of Monterey High School, he is employed with Pacific Gas & Electric company at Moss Landing. He is the brother of Fred, Robert, John, Joseph, Patrick, Paul and David Velasquez, all of Seaside; and of Jess Velasquez Jr. of San Diego, Daniel Velasquez of Fresno and Tim Velasquez of McMinville, Ore. The couple plan to be married in St. Francis Xavier Church in Seaside on Feb. 2.
