Esther J. Trevino, a Carmel Valley resident for more than 20 years, died Saturday at Evans residential care home in Carmel after a period of failing health. She was 93. Miss Trevino was born July 30, 1894, in Laredo, Texas. She was a high school Spanish teacher for 40 years, retiring in 1964 from a position at San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas. She was a member of the Carmel Valley Community Chapel, the chapel guild and the Fidelity Club of the chapel. Survivors include a brother, Alfredo Trevino of San Marcos, Texas; two nieces, Margaret Bennett and Buffie Collins, both of Carmel Valley; and many cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Carmel Valley Community Chapel. Burial and graveside services will be at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas. The Paul Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
