Pacific Grove Tribune, CA Aug 20, 1953
Pvt. Richard D. Andril, son of Mr. and Mrs. Domingos Andril of 669 Asilomar arrived this month in Alaska for duty with the Fourth Regimental Combat Team. The Fourth stationed at Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks, is receiving intensive field training while providing security for the northern approaches to Canada and the United States. Pvt. Andril who received his basic training at Fort Lewis, Washington, graduated from PGHS in 1951 and was employed by the American Can Co., in Monterey before entering the Army in January. Used to our climate, Pvt. Andril’s main comment on Alaska is – if it ever hot there!
