A Golden Anniversary
Clarence & Jane Lambing celebrated their 50th anniversary on Dec. 26. The couple married Dec. 26, 1946 at St. John’s Reformed Church in Johnstown, Pa., and have lived in Pacific Grove since 1984. Cmdr. And Mrs. Lambing have one son, David of San Jose. Mrs. Lambing was born Jane Williams in Johnstown. A graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Johnstown, she has been an active volunteer at the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula. Mrs. Lambing belongs to the navy League of the United States, the Naval Order of the United States, Monterey United Methodist Church, and the Monterey History and Art Association. Cmdr. Lambing, who is known as “Spud”, was born in Twin Rocks, Pa., and is a graduate of the University of Maryland. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served 28 years of active duty, retiring with the rank of commander. He worked for Litton Applied Technology in Sunnyvale for 14 years, retiring in 1984. He volunteers at the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula and at the Maritime Museum. Cmdr. Lambing serves as president for the Sons of the American Revolution and national director for the Navy League of the United States. He belongs to the Masonic Lodge No. 331 iN Pacific Grove, the Naval Order of the United States, National Sojourners, the Monterey History and Art Association, and the Monterey United Methodist Church. The couple have three children.
