Mrs. Nellie Rice Dies in P.G.
Mrs. Nellie M. Rice, 72, succumbed to a heart attack Saturday noon at the corner of Lighthouse and Grand avenues, Pacific Grove. A native of Pittsburg, California, she had made her home in Pacific Grove since 1938. Mrs. Rice was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Weaverville, and an active worker in the Red Cross. She leaves a son, Keith M. Rice of San Jose; four brothers: Ernest, Emory and Frank Hopper, all of Seattle, and Charles Hopper of Sacramento; and two sisters: Mrs. Ethel Kleeb of Seattle and Miss Susie Hopper of Seattle. Private funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the Paul Mortuary, Pacific Grove, with the Rev. Tod B. Sperling officiating.

Nellie Rice Stricken With Heart Attack Saturday, March 30
Nellie M. Rice, seventy two years old, died March 30 of a heart attack at noon on Lighthouse and Grandavenue. A native of Pittsburgh, California, she had lived in Pacific Grove since 1938. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Weaverville Chapter, and an active worker in the Red Cross. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Rice of Santiago; a son, Keith M. Rice of San Jose; four brothers, Ernest, Emory and Frank Hopper of Seattle and Charles Hopper of Sacramento; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Kleeb and Miss Susie Hopper, both of Seattle; granddaughter, Gail Ann; daughter of Keith; aunt, Mrs. Emma Hatfield, and cousin, Mrs. Veda Calkins of Pacific Grove. Private services were held Tuesday at Paulís Chapel with Tod B. Sperling officiating.
